VETCBD Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get VETCBD for my pet?

VETCBD is found in cannabis dispensaries throughout California. In many dispensaries, the only requirement to enter and make a purchase is to be 21 years of age or older. To see a list of our locations please click here!

I live outside California, can you ship?

At this time, because of current law, we can not ship VETCBD. VETCBD is passionate about education, information, and medical cannabis advocacy. We expect and hope that in the near future laws change such that we can help pets and their owners across the country.

Can I purchase directly from you?

Sorry, no. Federal and State law require a California state ID and a medical cannabis recommendation to enter a dispensary and purchase products sold there.

What is the difference between CBD products sourced from full spectrum cannabis vs hemp?

Full spectrum cannabis refers to cannabis that produces a bouquet of beneficial cannabinoids in addition to CBD, such as CBC, CBG, and small amounts of THC. At low doses THC, in combination with CBD, is non-psychoactive and can provide additional relief from pain, muscle spasms, nausea and loss of appetite. Other cannabinoids such as CBC and CBG have been shown to be beneficial for reducing pain and inflammation. Full spectrum cannabis provides optimal therapeutic value from the actions of multiple cannabinoids working together.

Since VETCBD is made from cannabis, will my pet get “high”?

No, CBD is the main active ingredient, and CBD does not cause a high and is non-psychoactive. VETCBD is carefully formulated and researched by our veterinarian, Dr. Tim Shu. We use the full cannabis flower to make VETCBD because of the many medical benefits it provides. The small amount of THC in VETCBD provides additional therapeutic effect due to the entourage effect, but this small amount is not enough to get even the smallest cat or dog high.

What makes VETCBD different from other pet CBD products?

VETCBD was founded and is formulated specifically for pets by our veterinarian and founder, Dr. Tim Shu. Because our product is a tincture, the dose is specific for each patient depending on their weight, as developed by Dr. Shu. We use responsibly grown, locally sourced, full spectrum cannabis to make VETCBD products.
